Starting this week, the Jhunjhunu Head Post Office is hosting a Digital Savings Camp to promote awareness around small savings schemes that can be started digitally with just ₹500. This local drive is part of India Post’s broader effort to bring more citizens, especially youth and homemakers, into the financial inclusion fold.
The camp, running from June 27 to July 3, will feature hands-on help for residents on:
- Opening Digital Recurring Deposit accounts via the India Post Payments Bank (IPPB) app
- Setting up auto-debit for Sukanya Samriddhi or Senior Citizen Savings Schemes
- Learning about low-risk, high-security investment options from India Post
Postmaster Rajendra Jakhar said, “We’re focusing on first-time savers. Even ₹500 can be the start of something bigger. No long queues — just bring Aadhaar and mobile.”
Special kiosks are set up in Jhunjhunu, Chirawa, and Nawalgarh, with volunteers helping people download the app and activate services. Citizens will also receive printed brochures and guidance in Hindi.
This move is expected to benefit students, housewives, and small business owners who want simple, reliable ways to grow their savings.
