Jhunjhunu Farmers to Benefit from New Kisan Drone Yojana Subsidy Starting July

Starting July 1, farmers across Jhunjhunu district will be eligible for a major boost through the expanded Kisan Drone Yojana, a government initiative that provides up to 50% subsidy on agricultural drones. This scheme, rolled out by the Union Ministry of Agriculture, aims to help farmers adopt modern techniques like precision spraying and real-time crop monitoring.

Local officials have confirmed that applications for the subsidy will be processed through Krishi Vigyan Kendras (KVKs) and Common Service Centres (CSCs). Farmers applying will need to provide land ownership documents and valid Aadhaar ID. Those part of registered Farmer Producer Organisations (FPOs) will be prioritized.

This scheme is especially significant for Jhunjhunu, where over 60% of the population is engaged in agriculture. The use of drones could lead to faster spraying during monsoon crop cycles and better disease control, helping reduce costs and improve yields.

Farmers like Ramkishan from Surajgarh welcomed the move, saying, “Drones will save us time and labour. If subsidy is coming, it’s a chance we shouldn’t miss.”
