The Indian Meteorological Department (IMD) has released a fresh monsoon forecast, and it’s good news for Jhunjhunu. According to the latest report, the region is expected to receive moderate rainfall until at least July 7, supporting early Kharif sowing and easing water supply concerns.
Over the past 4 days, Jhunjhunu has already recorded 22 mm rainfall, with more light-to-medium showers predicted in the coming week. The skies may remain partly cloudy, and humidity levels are expected to stay above 60%.
This outlook comes as a relief for farmers who were waiting to begin bajra, moth, and moong cultivation. Agri officers are advising farmers to begin sowing gradually and keep drainage systems ready to avoid waterlogging in low-lying farms.
Meanwhile, urban residents are also urged to clear terrace drains and secure loose wires to avoid short circuits during sporadic rain spells.
Jhunjhunu SDM Office has activated local helplines for flood-prone zones near Surajgarh and Pilani. No major weather warnings have been issued as of now, but daily updates will be shared via the Rajasthan Rain Alert App.
