Rural road under construction in Jhunjhunu under PMGSY, June 2025

Jhunjhunu to Benefit from 35 New Rural Roads Under PMGSY Scheme

In a major boost for rural infrastructure, Jhunjhunu district has been sanctioned 35 new rural roads under the Pradhan Mantri Gram Sadak Yojana (PMGSY). The announcement was made on June 30, 2025, during a district-level review meeting of the Rural Development Department.

These upcoming road projects will benefit remote villages across blocks like Alsisar, Khetri, Nawalgarh, and Udaipurwati, making access to schools, health centres, and markets significantly easier. The initiative is aimed at improving last-mile connectivity and reducing the travel burden for villagers, especially during the monsoon and winter months.

Officials stated that detailed project reports (DPRs) have already been approved, and tendering work is underway. The roads will be built using eco-friendly materials and must comply with quality and safety standards laid out under PMGSY guidelines.

  • Farmers and transporters will benefit from smoother access to mandis.
  • School-going children and medical patients from remote villages will get safer, faster routes to town.
  • Employment will be generated locally during construction, supporting rural labour.

This move is expected to bring long-term growth and development to Jhunjhunu’s rural belt.
