A high-speed future may be on the horizon for Jhunjhunu! The North Western Railway zone has proposed a new Vande Bharat Express route connecting Jaipur to Delhi — and this time, it may include a stop in Jhunjhunu.
Currently under review at the Railway Board, the route is designed to support semi-urban tourism, military movement, and regional economic traffic. If approved, the new Vande Bharat will reduce travel time between Jhunjhunu and Delhi to under 3.5 hours.
As per the proposal, the route will cover:
Jaipur → Sikar → Jhunjhunu → Churu → Rohtak → Delhi Sarai Rohilla
This is big news for residents and students frequently travelling to the capital. Local business groups and army officers from the cantonment areas have welcomed the development, citing faster access and improved frequency.
Railway DRM Mr. Prateek Meena said, “We’ve submitted feasibility data including track speed tests between Sikar and Jhunjhunu. Feedback from the public is also being recorded before finalizing stoppage points.”
If greenlit, the train is expected to launch in early 2026, bringing both prestige and practicality to the region’s rail map.
