Jhunjhunu school teacher using smartboard with students after STARS portal launch

Rajasthan STARS Education Portal Goes Live — What It Means for Jhunjhunu Schools

The Rajasthan government has officially launched the STARS education portal, and it’s already creating a buzz in districts like Jhunjhunu. This portal is part of a World Bank–supported effort to bring more transparency to public education, and now anyone—from students to parents—can track how schools are improving across infrastructure, training, and resources.

So what’s new for Jhunjhunu? Schools here will now upload photos and updates on everything from smart classrooms and computer labs to teacher training sessions. The biggest win is accountability—no more guessing whether promised upgrades are happening or not. Every step, every rupee, will be visible on the portal.

According to Education Secretary Krishna Kunal, over 32,500 mentor teachers and Anganwadi workers across the state have already been trained. Now, it’s Jhunjhunu’s turn to showcase its progress. The local education office is planning awareness drives to help teachers and parents use the dashboard efficiently.

It’s a step forward for school governance, and if used well, it can actually push schools to do better—not just report better.
