SBI Digital Banking Van offers doorstep service in Jhunjhunu

SBI Jhunjhunu Launches Digital Banking Van for Rural Villages

In a first for Rajasthan, State Bank of India (SBI) has launched a Digital Banking Van from Jhunjhunu to provide doorstep banking in remote areas. The solar-powered van, equipped with internet, biometric tools, and a teller counter, will rotate between villages including Surajgarh, Mandawa, and Pilani five days a week.

Services available include passbook updates, account opening, Aadhaar linking, cash deposit slips, and UPI setup — all without needing to visit a physical branch.

“This van will change how rural customers bank. People who earlier travelled 10–15 km for basic services can now access them from their panchayat chowk,” said Sandeep Rao, SBI Branch Manager, Jhunjhunu.

The service is especially aimed at helping elderly citizens, homemakers, and farmers. SBI is also conducting awareness drives in villages about safe digital banking and avoiding scams.

The banking van will operate from 10 AM to 4 PM, with locations announced every Monday via Gram Panchayats.
