Health worker drawing blood from patient at free dengue screening camp in Jhunjhunu

State health dept opens free dengue screening camps in Jhunjhunu region

With clean monsoon rains arriving, Jhunjhunu’s health department is stepping up its game. Starting June 26, a series of free dengue screening camps will operate across the district—located at PHCs, community halls, and key rural locations.

Why this matters: With early showers comes ideal mosquito breeding conditions, raising dengue risks. The state government, through the Rajasthan Public Health Department, is offering free tests—including NS1 Antigen—to anyone with fever above 38 °C. No appointments needed.

In recent years, nearby Rajasthan towns reported dengue cases during monsoon months; now the state wants Jhunjhunu to act early. Local health officers are stocked with rapid test kits and are ramping up awareness via loudspeakers, school visits, and WhatsApp alerts.

For villagers, the message is clear: Visit your nearest camp if you see symptoms like high fever, body aches, or rashes. Treatment can begin immediately, and early detection means fewer hospitalizations. Camps operate daily from 8 am to 2 pm through mid-July, with plans extending if needed.

Community voices:
Anil Sarpanch of Bissau remarks, “Last year, late diagnosis led to hospital stays. Now, simple tests at home villages will make all the difference.”
